Pathfinder2e The Spurned hath no fury like alchemy

Feb 13, 2020 3:16 am
Hello,
I am thinking of offering a Pathfinder 2e run through one or more of my turned down RPG Superstar adventures.
Anybody interested in trying Pathfinder Second edition?

My adventure? "The Spurned hath no fury like alchemy."

Player characters are 5th level, have an array of 16,15,14,13,12,11 plus ancestry modifiers and players build characters up to their current level.

Taldor and Quadira have had their borders shift countless times.
For now, Taldor holds the northern most strip of desert with the cities of Salt-Shore, Salt Sands and Salt gate.
You are being sent to each of these cities to collect the taxes due to the treasury of Taldor in Oppara...

What could possibly go wrong?
Feb 13, 2020 1:30 pm

Future advancement
2nd level, Alchemist dedication feat, gain: Craft Alchemy feat, and Lore-cooking.

This character is good at fighting, traveling through the wild, survival, navigation, hunting, foraging, but his true calling is to be a doctor. The future addition of alchemy, only serves to expand his role as a healer.
Weakness? talking. The 11 charisma and no training in the skills: deception, diplomacy, intimidation, society can make life quite difficult when dealing with much more savvy persons. Also, this character does well in the wild, but not so well in situations where being underhanded is more appropriate. I.E. the thievery skill. Locks, and traps can stymie his progress.

I think I'm going to have my character be a dwarf barbarian animal rager.
Feb 14, 2020 1:30 am
I'm making a Human Barrister Champion. I'll work out the other details tonight.

Thanks for the template!

I haven't seen that point array before. We don't start each attribute at 10 and go from there?

As the GM I am directing you to use this method. it gives you more to work with. It is a player focused spread. Your choices matter. While your character is prodigious in one area, you have other strengths to rely on. let's say I am making a human "monk". I can build my character like this;
Strength:___16* monk feat: monastic weapons. weapon: Bo staff. human feat: canny acumen, (expert perception)
Dexterity:___18* Heritage: versatile, feat- Incredible initiative (+2 initiative)
Constitution: 13 ____skills: acrobatics, athletics, stealth, thievery, just off the top of my head.
Intelligence:_12
Wisdom:____15
Charisma:___11
at 2nd level I might take the rogue dedication, and at 4th level take the 1st level rogue feat trap-spotter.
at 5th, as a human I can take the feat "natural ambition" and grab an extra class feat from either monk or rogue.
Strength:___18
Dexterity:___18
Constitution: 15
intelligence:_14
Wisdom:____17
Charisma:___11
I used the four free boosts to raise str, con, int, wis.

this character optimizes strength and dexterity, maxing out the characters focus.
this is completely different from the Kallus character who uses his boosts to shore up his weaknesses.

alternately, a human sorcerer (occult- hag bloodline)
str:__13
dex:_18*
Con:_11
int:__16*
Wis:__12
cha:__15
This character might focus on Movement (acrobatics, athletics, stealth) and Social (deception, diplomacy, intimidate, society)
I can drop a feat on armor proficiency, I can drop a feat on martial weapon training. I can carry a sling, a sack of sling bullets, and two bandoleers of throwing daggers.

Why do ability scores matter? Why not abandon them and use only the ability modifiers.
the answer is thus: ability modifiers are meaningless when the dice can make a super-genius (+5) stupider than a dog (-3).
the dog can roll 19, 20, 18... and the genius: 1,2,3...
The bell curve isn't just a grading method, it is a percentage that defines the number of your equals, the number of those who need your help, and those who are beyond your help (ie: won't help self or are superior to you).
it may suck, but in reality the genius will never be outwitted by the fool. The world's strongest man will not be out lifted by a wimp. In real life there are no participation trophies. Failure is a very real thing. Even heroes can fall.
I will be giving Hero points, and players will start with a hero point...
I can not change reality, I can not change fate.
I do not control the dice.
Feb 14, 2020 1:21 pm
Ah, from your monk example I see we still get the ability bumps at fifth level. I thought those would be included in the array from the wording of your first post. I'll adjust my character in progress.

and I so misunderstood your initial question. Seriously, I do apologize for my error.
Yes, you do get your level 5 ability score advances; all four free boosts in accordance with the rules for the boosts.

Alrighty! Onward and upward. Thanks for the detailed explanations.

I can not see the character sheet.
There is no such thing as Level dip multi-classing in 2e pathfinder. See the Core Rulebook, the Classes chapter, after Wizard, after animal companions, after familiars you will find the Archetype/dedication feats. The earliest you may "multi-class" is 2nd level by using your class feat slot to purchase the first Dedication feat. you may purchase another, only from that class at 4th. I do not recommend multi-classing a sorcerer save only to expand your low level spell slots.
For example:
Arcane sorcerer + Wizard archetype, more low level arcane spells
Divine sorcerer + Cleric archetype, more low level divine spells
Occult sorcerer + Bard archetype, more low level occult spells
primal sorcerer + Druid Archetype, more low level primal spells
Multi-classing with monk does not do what it once did.
I shared an example Human Occult sorcerer, use the versatile feat for armor proficiency, and the first level ancestry feat on martial weapon proficiency. the Idea for the example sorc is to become a Buffing character. The spell Magic weapon is quite awesome at first level. Not so much at 5th as you and your allies will likely posses magic weapons.
If you want to be a ranged nuke, or artillery, you need to review the action economy. Some spells take two actions to cast once. Sometimes it is better to be proficient with a bow that with a set of limited spell slots. The sorcerer feat Reach metamagic can turn a touch spell like shocking grasp into a one target 30ft attack.

if you want to be tougher, realize that you get 6 hit points for being an Elf, and 6 Hit points as a sorcerer, plus your constitution modifier. you can take the toughness general feat. instead of spending daily spell slots on "Mage armor" learn to wear light armor with a general feat. The cantrip shield keeps your hands free and gives you a +2 shield bonus to ac while it has a ten minute cooldown, cantrips have unlimited ammo. With elven dexterity, you can build towards a high AC and toughness without multi-classing.

Osirion is your homeland: check, authorized.

I think @Realist is talking to me, I had a sort of scratch pad I was working on in google docs. I’m out for lunch right now but I did a quick cut and paste to a character sheet on the site. I’ll go through your post when I get back home to a larger screen.
Feb 15, 2020 9:02 pm
A sorcerer, nice. My champion-paladin is nearly ready, just have a few more feats to choose them I'll upload. Likely be tomorrow.
Feb 15, 2020 10:10 pm
As a primal I have access neither the shield spell nor mage armour... fudge... I might have to change from an elemental bloodline, I Just don’t want to be super squishy.

I shall remain elemental, I’m certain I’ve buggered some things up. This is the scratch pad version. All of the things in brackets indicate where it came from (L3) = level 3.

Concept Approved! I'll read the sheet now.

Ah,,,, I see now. Your Spirit animal is BEAR.
I am missing something, in your feats?
I am going to double check with the book.
I need to double check Armor class, hit points, and saving throws for everyone.
it seems;
Back ground: Scout gives you (*in addition) the skills Lore-scouting, and Survival. if survival is a duplicate skill, you may purchase any one skill at trained. Plus the bonus feat: forager.
I do not see Divine font in the barbarian class feat list.
Sudden charge approved,
your 2nd class feat NO ESCAPE is approved, but if you intend to Multi-class as a cleric this should be an archetype/dedication feat
Your 4th class feat Fast movement is also approved, but if you multi-class this might also be a cleric dedication feat.
You are a rager! You move fast and get "in-their-Face".... that is when you make them regret their whole misspent lives.
I love your feat choices; it makes "boulder roll" awesome.

The only thing is that you didn't erase Kallus' future advancement blurb at the bottom.
Otherwise your sheet is perfect.

While it looks like "Subterfuge" is completely out of this character's bailiwick,
You readily make friends and lead with style. Your social abilities can sway entire marketplaces, court rooms, and armies.
You are like a titanic manly MAN who by faith loves everyone and is a "Problem solver" (*somebody has a problem, they bring it to you, You solve it*) in many ways, not just combat.

Not only approved, but admired.
I will double check Armor class, hit points, saving throws for everyone.

As a complete rookie with the PF system, if anyone has any thoughts or critiques of my character let me know before I lock things down. I really don’t want to die to the first ROUS I run into. 😂

If I read things right our skills are governing attribute + mastery. So trained acrobatics might be 3+1, and a reflex save expert for the same character would be 3+2? I want to make sure I’ve got it right in my head before filling all that out.
Feb 16, 2020 10:11 pm

We can re-flavor elemental spells to match your chosen element,
I do not see anything wrong with your concept; Desert elf from Osirion, Elemental bloodline sorcerer.
we shall see what I find out. I sense your desire to build for encounter survival, and I agree. I shall carefully review your characters; Saving throws, hit points, armor class, and the primal spell list. It will take me some time.
I am going to study your character sheet now.

The fictional world of Golarion
The setting depends on where you are; for example, the nations of "Garund" and "Mwangi" resemble ancient Africa. There is the nation of "osirion" which is like exaggerated myths about ancient Egypt. There is the continent of casmaron(? not 100% certain) which has nations that correspond to mythic India.

in many ways it is like the early 1600's earth, Just with magic... some nations have sworn to oppose slavery. Sailing ships and trade bring explorers and exploiters to every nation of the world. There have been many ancient empires in the past that grew to span the world, and disastrous events which erased them from history. Today, many of those ruins dot the world. The world is as varied as its peoples; shipping and trade bring distant peoples to other shores. it is an age of exploration, rediscovery, archaeology, and adventure!
The region of Taldor is much like medieval Europe, The region of Quadira is very much like the middle east; yet, there are differences. The dominant faith of Quadira is the goddess "Sarenrae" who heals, shows mercy, and offers redemption. This is opposed to real world religions which expanded by the sword, slavery, and slaughter.

Taldor has come to view the sarenrae faith as the disguise which quadiran spies, assassins and saboteurs use to cross their border. They also had to deal with false priests efforts to sway the people of taldor to commit treasonous acts for quadira in order to save their souls. As such, persons claiming to be of the Sarenrae faith in Taldor receive a measure of hostility. The dominant faith in Taldor is now the goddess Shelyn, or shelynite faith. Shelyn is a goddess of Art, Beauty, and Love. Taldor was once an empire, but has had entire nations break away and has long since fallen into decadence, and decay. So many have a noble title, that nobility has lost its meaning and its status.
Quadira wants to expand, and Taldor wants to hold on to its lost glory days.

The ocean had frequently flooded the western plains and shores of Quadira, and as the waters evaporated or sank into the desert sands, the waters left behind them vast fields of salt. The quadirian nation is a desert; not a barren waste, just a desert. The cities in this adventure, are able to grow food and produce highly valuable trade goods. Despite being the worst affected by the leeched ocean salts and infertile sands.

I’m sure you can figure it out but I’m trying to go for a free spirited gypsy fortune teller kind of thing. Good at reading and influencing people.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll erase that last bit of your sample com my sheet.

I might have the AC wrong, I meant to look into that a bit more, in case I forgot proficiency.

Edit: I checked and added 7 to my AC for being Trained in Heavy Armor.

Neat, I like them, the bladed scarf is an awesome idea. I’m married to the Vourinoi idea now though. Every party of adventurers needs and elf, mostly to poke the dwarf.
Feb 17, 2020 3:58 am
Vourinoi from Lost Omens Character guide.
Elves of the desert oases of Osirion and nearby lands, Vourinoi are often
unknown to any but those travelers and nomads who pass by a Vourinoi
oasis, but the few who encounter these elves find them a gregarious and
welcoming people. The oasis elves know how inimical to life their homes
can be, and they eagerly welcome and mingle with travelers in need of water
and shelter. Vourinoi learn almost from birth to be charming, eloquent,
and hospitable, and when conflict arises, most would rather talk than fight.
Vourinoi are easily identified by their rich brown skin and black hair, though
individual elves might have vivid blue, green, or white hair.
Vourinoi consider themselves separate from the nations they occupy, and
their friendliness belies a deep and fierce independence. Given their reputation
for skill at both magic and desert warfare, the rulers of the desert lands have
little desire to infringe upon the elves’ homes. In addition, the Vourinoi
consider themselves the sole stewards of their oases, and any attempt to
control or corrupt the life-giving sites draws the elves’ fury. Despite their love
for their homes, Vourinoi also share a great sense of wanderlust, even by elven
standards. Like their patron goddess Desna, the oasis elves delight in traveling
where whim takes them and meeting new people, and many leave their
homes to wander for many years before returning to their oasis.

the remaining commentary is not worth reading.
Feb 17, 2020 4:52 am
Well it’s more because they’re Osirian and the country is just across the water. I didn’t know about the other gypsies but I’ve always had a soft spot for Ancient Egypt, degree in Archaeology will do that to you, and the elf bit just puts a bow on it.

I’ve been flipping through my old text books looking at art and architecture, mostly for jewelry and inspirations.

I’m trying to figure out if taking an armor skill is worth the 1 point of AC. I’m also think I’m going to switch some spells about, I thought the 3 boxes was 3 turns not the 3 action phases of 1 turn, still it’s slow as hell but better than 3 minutes to cast something. The no magic shield / armor is weird, primal is the only list missing them.

Is having a familiar worth it? The spell battery ability looks nice, but you need 4th level spells for it... minion maybe later. Figured out after reading and re-reading I was doing some stuff wrong. How are we determining starting money beyond the 15g and any magic items?

I do not see Divine font in the barbarian class feat list.
Torag deity gives dwarves divine font of heal and divine skill of crafting. Not from class. Sorry about that.

Couple other notes: Barbarian class gave my guy the athletics skill but so did ancestry so I chose another skill instead.

Animal Instinct is where the bear came from and that instinct can kick in for unarmed attack when raging using the bear's jaw attacks.

I added forager, thanks for that, I missed it.

*at 1st level you can only be "trained" (Tn)... Though I make an exception that players can make one skill Expert (Ex) at 1st level. You may note that a 1st level monk has Ex unarmored, a 1st level Fighter is Ex with attacks, A first level champion is Ex with armor, and some classes gain a "Mastery" level; Perception, Attack, Defense, or Save, before 7th level. This is one of those "Specific beats General" rules. These items are not considered skills; Perception, Attacks, Defenses, or Saves, they are advanced only when your class advances them.
*Starting at 3rd level, you gain one "skill Increase" to raise any one skill at trained to Expert. The threshold/maximum is Ex. You gain another skill increase at 5th. Another skill at "Tn" (trained) can be raised to Ex (expert). The general rule is, the advancement of skills from Ex to Mastery (M) requires a minimum of 7th level.

During character creation, if you receive training in a skill you already know, you may select another skill to become trained in.
these do not stack.

Example: a Dwarf, ancestry feat; Dwarf lore: you gain crafting, religion, and lore-Dwarves.
Background: Artisan: you gain crafting, a lore, and the specialty crafting feat.
Class, Cleric, faith- Torag, you gain... crafting, religion,

That is crafting three times and religion twice. This does not mean a 1st level character starts with Crafting at Mastery, and religion at Expert. no, it means they get to select three other skills to be trained in.

I am confirming every last detail on the character sheets now. We can see the results tomorrow.
Feb 18, 2020 1:44 am
Everyone please describe a "Why" or "How" you came to be in a south Taldor village.
Might you have been sent there by your people, exiled, or seeking a family member.
Surely The elves need every bow and blade they can get? are you recruiting distant elves,,, or hunting deserters?
Do the Dwarves not have enough troubles with goblins, orcs, giants? Are you seeking to build a new Kingdom for you and yours?
Certainly, the undead tyrants of Osirion need to be opposed. Perhaps you were sent away to avoid capture, and being sacrificed. Perhaps sent to another shore to be trained in the mystic arts so that you can oppose the tyrants!

How have you come together, as an adventuring company? what was your most recent victory?
Feb 18, 2020 3:24 pm
Heh, I’m working on my "how did I come to be here" story and gypsy fortune teller has not showed up once. I may have to modify my in game background. 😂
Feb 18, 2020 3:38 pm
Logrith is not your run of the mill dwarf. He was always at odds with other dwarves because he preferred being above ground, wandering in the woods. He befriended a bear and they were quite an odd site....the huge bear towering over Logrith, following behind him as they explored the woods. Being somewhat of an outcast with the unlikely dream of settling somewhere else, he had heard about the tax collection job and decided to give it a go. He could use the money to fund his dreams and the adventure itself might prove stimulating, so he set off towards Taldor.

I'm ok with coming up with how we all met together. Maybe on the trail to Taldor or at a tavern in Taldor or perhaps the mission briefing itslef.

OOC:
This is likely to be edited for punctuation and wording but if I don’t publish it, it’ll sit in my computer forever as I tweak wording and sentence structure.
Only recently arrived in southern Taldor from the port of Merab in Thuvia, Marashepsut was stripped of her names and cast out by her clan for an offense against the sacred waters of the Nhmenthal Oasis.

Nameless and clanless she worked the trade routes of central Osirion for a time telling fortunes and spinning tales before being taken in by a merchant called Semkmet. Semkmet gifted her the name Marashepsut and his wild stories about his numerous journeys to exotic lands would instill within her a fascination for the wonders of the wider world.

On top of being a travelling merchant Semkmet was also a thief and a smuggler of antiquities as such he would also teach her about the dangers and treasures that lay hidden beneath the shifting sands of Osirion. In every encampment or town they visited Mara would set up her fortune telling tent and Semkmet would ply his legitimate trade by day and visit with grave robbers by night. He would bring the more unusual treasures to her and she would put her skills to work determining if there was anything "special" about the goods.

Semkmet had once been a clever trader but as the years passed and he grew older he began to make a series of poor and increasingly reckless decisions that put him at odds with the Pharaoh and his Risen Guard. Arrested for tomb robbing in Shiman-Sekh, Semkmet was sentenced to death his crimes, his property seized and his household was to be sold into slavery as a warning to anyone else who would dare plunder the sacred necropolis of Shiman-Sekh.

Marashepsut and two of Semkmet’s grandchildren managed to evade the Risen Guard and fled west into the dune sea, past the Sphinx Head and into Thuvia. Mara would spend several years at Lamasara telling fortunes and evaluating artifacts smuggled out of Osirion before returning to her homeland and setting up shop in Totra.

A decade later the Risen Guard would return, cracking down on anyone involved in the export of Osirion antiquities. Marashepsut fled by ship across the Inner Sea to first to Kortos and finally to Taldor.

Carth has a nose for trouble. He's always been that way, and at an early age found himself getting scolded by the dwarven chief of the Citadel Under the Mountain. As a probation, he agreed to study the discipline intensive warrior traditions of the dwarves.

His parents were ambassadors, trade negotiators really, and moved there with the family. Sudamon grew of an age among dwarves, taller and stronger than most. Enamored with the dwarves stoic views, certainty in the face of chaos, he studied the relies teachings of Torag, the great craft-dwarf. With the dedicated application to a craft and ideal, he became a Champion of Torag, almost unknown outside of the dwarves own ranks.

Today, he has taken to the Wandering, an orthodox tradition of servitude to the ideals of Torag. For a time, a decade or two if he were as long loved as a dwarf, he would spread the ideals of Torag through example.

He has an unlikely friendship with Logrith whose disdain for his own people rankles and intrigues Carth equally. He also knows that where Logrith goes, trouble will follow buy accident or design.

Their last adventure involved negotiating a dispute between mongrelfolk and the less nomadic townsfolk who resented their new neighbours. Yeah, it turned into a fight, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. It wasn't a war and they left things with a solid agreement for peace.

Windyridge says:
You met the exotic elven girl on the trail to Taldor. You trust her as much as you might a Goblin blacksmith (*Which meant OH, HELL NO! at the time), but she earned her keep and has become an ally. You don't trust her yet, but she is an ally. She did not flee in the face of a deadly enemy! She brought the storms to free you from the clutches of the "Web-Lurker" calling itself the "The Web King". The battle was fierce and she fought to save your life from the web maze and and the Web King's greedy starving "Children"!
You in turn carried her limp body to a healer to treat the terrible spider bite in her thigh. The poison should have killed her, but you would not allow it! The money you scored for the head of the web-king, you spent on a cleric to save her.
[ +- ] Logrith only
And She still owes you a debt...

Because of this, the two of you (Dwarf Bear-barian) (*Mysterious Desert elf) travel together seeking adventure for coin, and a way to end her "life debt" to you.
Qralloq says:
When you met the Dwarf, His Boldness and Might gave you a smile. The mysterious Elven woman had her mystery only magnified by her present company, Logrith. You bought them some drinks and revealed that you might need their aid in slaying an uppity gang of kobolds whose shaman was using alchemy. Later you would discover that the shaman was able to make the kobold warriors dangerously strong, tough, quick, and...
BIG!
It was during the deadly battles that you three became willing to work together, without back-stabbing.
The trio's last adventure involved negotiating a dispute between mongrelfolk and the less nomadic townsfolk who resented their new neighbors. Yeah, it turned into a fight, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. It wasn't a war and they left things with a solid agreement for peace.
Windyridge says:
Logrith Stormbrew had overheard about the tax collection job and decided to give it a go. He could use the money to fund his dreams and the adventure itself might prove stimulating, so he shared the word with the elf and man.

The Noble was as round as the moon, with spindly arms and legs, a powdered face, and absurd dress...
The elf grimaced at the clashing riot of colors on the bloated ...Man?
The Dwarf growled growing provoked by what he saw as another "Web-King" in disguise...
The Human, took the lead in discussing the quest, if only to help hold the dwarf at bay for a moment longer.

The ludicrous noble announced himself as "Laird Dekard", and spoke to you as if his nostrils were his eyes (looking down his nose). You would board the long ship, "The Nine Button Chest" and sail south to the docks of the three cities of Salt-shore, Salt-sands, and Salt gate. At each port you would greet the Bourger'Manster and follow the instructions given to you to retrieve the taxes due. Once you had all three chests of taxes, you will sail back to Taldor and deliver the chests to the Royal Exchequery of Opara. When you return to Laird Dekard in his villa at the town of crosswind with the exchequer's reciept with seal, the Laird will cross your palms with one thousand gold each!

What do you say?

The dusty skinned elf rubs a small bronze disk attached to her belt between two fingers thoughtfully, she did not trust this human, he smelt worse than most of them and was bloated like a corpse left in the midday sun. Her amethyst eyes looked first to her human companion, Sudamon and then to the dwarf, Logrith. Mara’s long blue black hair was mostly pulled back beneath her headdress but a few strands fell across her face. Neat ochre hieroglyphs were painted down her arms and across her exposed midriff.

"Your offer seems most generous Malek, my Lord," she corrected herself, *You are not in Osirion any more.* Her accented voice was light and airy. "Why, if I may be so bold, does my Lord require our assistance with this task? Why not send his own men to collect the taxes due?"

Carth watches the other two. They had agreed to here Deckard's proposal and it sounded easy enough, and yet difficult, too. Providing the taxes were given freely, which Carth doubted, there was still the master of protecting the taxes once we obtained them.

Mara's question indicated she was thinning along similar lines. He politely waits for the response before adding his own question.

His heavy partial plate armor, as much a negotiating tactic as a protective shell, was warm in the room. His thick moustaches twitch with unanswered questions. His holy symbol to the dwarven god Torag dangles from a steel chain on his neck. At his belt a large warhammer on one side and a wicked dwarven waraxe of impeccable craftsmanship. A long bow and a shield have been left on the horse, a tall proud white-specked grey stallion of a suspicious temperament.

Laird Dekard's explanation seemed plausible enough. Seeing Sudamon sign, Logrith confidently signed the scroll also, his jeweled war hammer clinking against his steel shield as he leaned over to take pen in hand.
Laird Dekard sniffs, "is she with you? I'd prefer six heroes, but the four of you will do fine." He gestures to the Large Bear sitting beside Logrith and counts the bear as the fourth.
Feb 20, 2020 2:38 pm
Carth smiles, "Sometimes that bear is the best of us. Maybe not as much on tax collecting matters, but come dinner time, ..." he examines the two writs to familiar himself with what they say. In case anyone asks.
Feb 20, 2020 3:56 pm
Mara waited for Sudamon and Logrith to sign, she owed the Dwarf a life debit and the Human was his friend. Thus, she supposed, she was both his friend by proxy and in a round about way in debit to him as well. Debits involving more than monies were terribly complicated things. Her finger and thumb continued to trace the a circular patterns on the small bronze disk attached to her waist.

She approached the table, did a kind of half bow half curtsy to Laird Dekard, uncertain which was more appropriate for her in this land and proceeded to sign the document in the long and flowing Osirion common script. Mara had briefly pondered signing in a hieroglyphics and cartouche but as she was neither nobility nor a god it seemed inappropriate.

Returning to Logrith and Sudamon, Mara straightened her skirts and long headdress and stood quietly behind them.

Laird Dekard, draws out from the sheaf two long sheets of vellum and rolls them on a single scroll.

He places the Scroll inside a long burgundy red leather scroll tube and presents it to the group.
The Laird Says, "Very well, the ship is at the docks now awaiting your arrival. Present this to the captain of the Nine buttons. Know that you have until the new moon to complete this quest."
Feb 21, 2020 2:22 am
"Do you think the bear should sign?" Marashepsut whispers quietly leaning forward between Sudamon and Logirth, "she does seem to be entitled a share."

Dekard rolls up the scrolls noisily and Mara stands back up, "I guess not," she looks sympathetically at the bear and shrugs.

Following the men outside she looks towards the harbour and then towards her tan coloured horse, "Do you suppose they will have room for our horses aboard the ship or will we have to stable them here until we return?"

Yes, this place is rather small. Laird Dekard's villa is further north from here across a grapes farm, opposite of a vintner "wine maker".
The smells of grapes and wine waft past his favorite "vacation spot". No walls, no fortress, a dock yes. The weather is crisp and cool, early in the morning lows are 60*F, and Noon Highs are 72*F. Clouds roll in from the ocean, it seems that if you wait just ten minutes there will be entirely new clouds. There are some things available in the farmer's market, though the only eye widening surprises are for those who cook, wine aficionados, fellow agriculturalists, and horticulturalists. for example; "WinterStones" - a kind of potato that grows in the cold. a spice called 'rime-flower' which has a crisp, icy, wintergreen taste. Cinnamon, nutmeg, teragon, cumin, chili powder, paprika, parsley, oregano, basil, thyme, sage, marojam, cilantro, rosemary, rue, minced onion, minced garlic, and more can be found in the spice-master's cart. Woodland elves examine and purchase bushels of desert cotton from Osirion, and bolts of silk from far-far away Tian Xua. Dwarves inspect forge rosens, blacksmith supplies and tools for their mines, timber for the shoring up. A dwarven merchant is selling several varieties of mushroom; button, octopus, shiitake, and Stair-step. There is a huckster selling "Honest-to-goodness-bottled siren-song". Very rare, a crate from the city of ilsuria in the distant nation of Varisa of a fruit juice known as "shelyn's Beloved drop" or just "Beloved". The fruit juice is a wondrous drink at dawn, makes for good mixed drinks, and supposedly a small drop will render the most vile alchemical concoction palatable....

Laird Dekard, answers you Mara off handily as he boards a small, but ornate carriage, "Taldor has held these cities for some 25 months. which is something of a record. You are bound to meet settlers and farmers who grow some of the crops in our market today. The majority of such goods is transported to various capitals of the west and the north by teleportation and kept fresh with purification prayers, so you may see one exceptionally potent scroll reader... true masters of the arcane and divine, aren't as common here as they are in the nations west of us, both south and north. The only ones who should concern you are the Bourger-mansters in the ancient parlance, as we call them now the mayors and governors of those towns.
They tend to their people zealously, and are reluctant to surrender their taxes at times - only when the kingdom does not acknowledge their needs."

Mara wandered out of the villa, pulled her headdress back and began teasing the tangles out her blue black hair with her fingers. She like this place, the crystal sky was fulled with large billowy white clouds, a gentle cool, sometimes cold, breeze blew in off the ocean and most importantly, everything was beautiful emerald green instead of the oppressive dust filled shades of endless sand she was accustomed to.

Walking across the the cobblestone courtyard to her horse, Marashepsut ran her hand down the neck of the gold and black dappled mare, "Merhaba prenses, başka bir maceraya hazır mısın?" She smiled and reached into her bag muttering the word oats prior to producing a handful to feed her faithful companion.

Spending a few moments securing her pockets, pouches and bags, no point in making life easy for whatever third rate thieves might inhabit this hamlet. When she finished Mara slowly led her mare down the road, through the village and into the market place.

Mara had spent part of the night before going through her supplies, taking inventory figuring out what she had and what she needed.

Her priorities are a warm cloak for the sea journey, fresh fruits and vegetables, spices, beer and wine.

Carth watches Mara head off. She had a head for trade and such things, but Carth is thinking of other necessities. He finds his horse outside and scratches it's neck. "I'll go to the ship, see about the captain and crew. I'll meet you all there later."

Swinging into saddle, he guides his faithful steed toward the docks.
Feb 24, 2020 7:14 am
Mara finds a cask of delightful honey mead for a good price, a cask of ale, and the other items she seeks.

Sudamon Carth, heads to the docks. Apparently the trade with this village has added goods to the cargo that can be found no where else, the Smug halfling captain grins anticipating a good profit. Moving about on the wide, but busy pier requires a bit of patience as Laborers work to load the ship with crates, barrels, and rolled tarps full of goods.
The halfling captain rocks back and forth on her heels before the pier entrance along side her heavily muscled Dwarven First mate. It seems the dwarf wears a charm that makes him "Large sized". The dwarf carries the manifest and records everything the Halfling captain tells him to.
The halfling captain, "Kadar! record the sales of the Osirion cotton bundles, and Red River Reed meditation mats."
She noted that the wood elf buyers were entranced by the comfort and warmth of the cotton- It was clear that they couldn't get enough of the stuff. She imagined their Spinners, Weavers, tailors, and dye masters would be creating furniture and a wardrobe suitable for a king. Such industry suited the elves, as they proffered their own styles and motifs.
The Giant-Dwarf, "Yes captain Cee-Cee!"

A bit of calculation enters halfling Captain Cee-Cee's eyes as she sees Sudamon on his horse, "What is this?" she asks aloud...
Feb 24, 2020 4:24 pm
Logrith doesn't need much in terms of supplies that he didn't already have and with White Claw he would only create a stir in the market. But he does notice a small stall on the fringes of it selling fresh fish. In fact there was also an old lady in the adjacent stall selling dried fish. I'll meet you back at the ship, he says to the others and he and the bear amble over to the stalls. Logrith buys a fresh glistening pink fish for the bear and a sac of dried fish for the voyage. He tosses the fish to White Claw who grabs it in his long sharp claws and digs in, jaws slapping and slobbering, thoroughly enjoying his treat.

Yes, fish GOOD... White-claw hugs you with brotherly love. Normally Bears might be waking from hibernation now. How your companion can ignore the usual ursine cycles to follow you like family remains a mystery, perhaps there is magic in your blood?
or, in white-claw..?

You get closer to the pier, and see Sudamon Carth mounted on horseback. He is being rebuffed by a tiny halfling captain who will not allow him to board without a massive quantity of coin or a writ... of which he has neither.

But you do...
You bear the scroll.
Perhaps, this is the time and the place for you to express your ire with his earlier "slight" against you and white-claw.

Logrith sees the tense exchange going on between Sudamon and the halfling captain. His immediate reaction is to move closer to aid his friend, but he hesitates, a small smile meandering across his face. Logrith and the bear move towards the pier, just close enough that Sudamon can see them both. Then they stop and let the scene play out. Logrith's eyes sparkle in mischievous delight. The bear might be smiling too.

"Ahh, here comes yon confederate. perhaps to help you perform a vanishing trick!" Sneers the Halfling Captain Cee-Cee to Sudamon. "I've no interest in time wasting words. When the cargo is loaded, The nine buttons will sail. Either bring gold, or go home, O' Squire of dung heap inspection".

Captain Cee-Cee , She addresses Logrith, "Halt! Who goes and what do you bring to me?"
Feb 26, 2020 5:16 am
Carth stands politely with his horse and waits for Logrith to respond.
Feb 26, 2020 3:03 pm
Logrith, you can see Sudamon at a loss...
Words won't work here, He may as well be commanding a landslide to go back to the top of a mountain.
The Halfling captain is so "Matter of fact" and focused on the "Here and now"; what past experiences could have shaped such fierce mercantilism?

Perhaps, you may fare better... may be. You hold the writ.
Feb 26, 2020 3:46 pm
Logrith is done playing and is now tired of the captain's attitude.

Here! He shoves the writ in the hafling's face. This should do, should it not? As he reaches forward with the scroll, White Claw takes a step out from behind him.
Feb 26, 2020 4:12 pm
The Halfling captain, looks at you with half closed eyes. She accepts the scroll. She unrolls it.

She says, "Ahh, I see. So you're the ones he's duped this time. Okay, The three of you and your mounts may board. The horses go into the mid deck. Your pet is to stay supervised by you, Topside of the forecastle."

She hands the scroll back and dismisses you with a sweep of a cupped hand directing you to the boarding planks.
She lets slip a wry grin and says quietly to herself, "They'll learn soon enough."
Feb 26, 2020 4:50 pm
Carth files that away, and decides that it may be better served to question or bribe the crew, but he'll make that judgement call later, after he talks to the others.

"You're a sight, Logrith, what with White Claw looming behind you. Did you get everything you needed for the journey? I'm sure Mara is bargaining up a storm with the locals, and I hope she makes it before we shove off. I suspect good captain Cee-Cee is not one for a schedule deviation."

He leads his fierce horse on board, confident that the loyal mount will overcome it's base reservations about sea travel.

He recalls his old mentor's cautious words: Never get on the boat! and chuckles to himself.
Feb 26, 2020 8:43 pm
Haha, White Claw has gotten me out of a scrap or two without getting into a scrap or two, if you know what I mean. But you do know what I mean, don't you? Logrith gives Carth a playful poke on the shoulder.

Yes I didn't need much as I had come prepared, but the bear enjoyed some fresh fish and I bought a bunch more dried for the journey. I just hope the weather holds out, as being stuck topside won't provide much in the way of shelter from rain, or spray for that matter. But as always, we will make do.

As for Mara, she better make it. She will be filled to the brim with goodies and besides, we will need her help.

Taking Carth aside, Logrith asked in a hushed voice, What did she mean by those comments? Have we made a mistake signing on to this job?

Carth whispers back, "Perhaps, but I did expect a certain amount of resistance on the collecting side of this. The fee that was offered for our service was generous." He pauses and straightens, before shaking his head.

"We'll need to find out what we can. It seems that there is a history here involving our predecessors. I trust that if Laird Decklin knows that if there is a double cross in the cards, Torag's justice shall be expedient, regardless of his position."

In the next three hours the Pier is cleared and the market has closed. Traders, attach beasts of burdens and haul their carts away to path routes west, north, and east. The crew prepare to pull the planks, mooring ropes, anchors, and lower a sail to start turning the vessel out of the river mouth back into the sea...
Feb 26, 2020 11:22 pm
Mara heads down to the docks with her horse before this happens and presumably encounters Capt. Cee Cee. She greets the captain and her first mate kindly, offering both of them a sticky bun. When they undoubtedly challenge her for being on the dock she merely states, "I’m with the bear." When she’s let aboard she offers the captain the second keg of mead as way of an apology for the loss of cargo space due to having to transport their horses.

When her horse is settled Marashepsut joins Sudamon and Logrith near the bow. "Did you learn anything new?" She asks offering the men sticky buns.

"I do not trust this Malek," she says around a mouthful of bun, "he is fat and smells particularly odorous, even for a human." She looks at Sudamon, "No offence. Not to mention the reward he is offering seems completely out of line for a simple, what is the words you use? An 'iihdar alsaey, a fetch quest."

Mara pushes her blue black hair back from her eyes, "I shall consult the cards tonight," she shrugs, "we will drink wine, tells stories and engage in the thlath haqayiq, the three truths to get to know each other better."

"We have concerns. Not to engage in rumour or speculation, but the cards may reveal what had been guarded from us. More on that later." Carth bites into the sticky bun and nods his pleasant surprise.
Feb 27, 2020 7:56 am
PART 0ne
The harrow spread, without interpretation by me. I will use the -> to show a link that contributes to the meaning of each card.
Note: in my tradition (orphan (psychic)), cards that are "Reversed" or "Upside down" can imply an explicitly nuanced meaning that has to be refined from what imagery that card contains; Shed options and narrow the meaning as much as possible/Be specific. This is important. It can be a very specific meaning that might be missed if one doesn't have the necessary perspective. Such Reversed cards should always remind us, that fortune telling is NOT wish fulfillment. Reversed cards can also hint at a REVERSED meaning, or one with NEGATIVE connotations...
This is outside of the Harrows' Miss-aligned card guidance. A card with an alignment in a position with a 1-axis opposed alignment, or a 2-axis opposition... has different guidance for interpretation. (The Axis' are defined thus: Morality (good, Neutral, Evil) vs. Conduct (Lawful, Neutral, Chaotic))

The six symbols are linked to the six attributes which can color each card's meaning subtly.
Hammer -> Strength -> War, battle, honor, a need for steadfast dedication or forcing application of a rule. "Staying strong".
Key -> Dexterity -> Trouble, children, entertainment, a need for precision, perceptiveness, and quick action!
Shields -> Constitution -> Health, Home, Pain, a Need for Endurance, potentially "Tough times".
Tome -> Intelligence -> money, school, literature, a memory, a clue, seek words of advice or pertaining to an adviser.
Star -> wisdom -> Ancient history, regarding morality, regarding consequence, discernment/judgement, the gods.
Crown -> Charisma -> Love, Family, Politics, negotiation, persuasion, seek an advantage (s), and keep your secrets.
Feb 27, 2020 8:25 am
Part 2wo
The Harrow Spread.
Nine cards are drawn at random, and laid one at a time in three columns of three.
LG | NG | CG Top row -> Good, positive meanings are dominant/stronger here.
LN | TN | CN Middle row -> "meh", not of concern, About the querant (person asking the question).
LE | NE | CE Bottom row -> Not good, bad, evil, cruel, any of the sins especially a lie.

LG
LN
LE
The first column; pertains to the past and elements of the past which have lead the querant to ask the current questions.

___NG
___TN
___NE
The Second column; describes the querent and the truths "about/circling" the question... which may be more reflective of the true question they should ask: opposed to the question they think they need to ask.

_______CG
_______CN
_______CE
The Third column; is chaos. This is representing that the future is not set. Even the gods can be astonished/surprised. This column deals with the potential "Outcome" which is not always to be the Future as we experience it. this has implications that our reality has a "Fourth wall", and that the described events is best understood from outside our box (reality), through a spiritual source not from the banality of anything in the mundane world. Not from an individual's experience (querant), but viewed by all others on the outside of that experience. "what others will recall of that instance."

GM: an oddity I note is that the first column seems to represent Logrith (the forge). The second column makes me envision the sorceress, Mara. (The imagery in "the foreign trapper") The third column seems to be all about Sudamon Carth. (The Paladin)
Could this imply that the adventure you share, depends on each of you using your Strengths? Expressing what is quintessential to each of you?

When the halfling Captain Cee-Cee passes by you lot. She asks to see your writ again. Which you show her.

She scans over the document, "Ah, there it is." She rolls it back up and returns it to you.

Curious you ask the captain, "WTF? WTH?" or something much more civil but to that effect.

She Shrugs before turning to leave, "You'd better complete this contract before the new moon."

You ask, "Why, pray tell?"

She says over her shoulder as she leaves, "It is how long you have left to live."

Marra can confirm this with ease...
With a single casting of "detect magic" the Scroll flares with the blue flame of Arcane magic...
This does nothing, other than reveal that you all have signed a magical contract.

The sun is setting, looking at the moon... Mara determines you have ten days.
The Ship pulls into the dock at Salt-Shore; for once unmolested by sea-going dangers.
The plank-ways are extended; Passengers off first! is the shout.
Feb 28, 2020 6:32 am
Marashepsut scowled at the page, "Alqard safiq."

"I pondered this while shopping, why offer to pay as much as he did when the taxation is liable to be much greater, why impose a silly time line? I reasoned there was something magical about the contract, but 10 days, it is as if the alkalb has no wish to see the monies returned in the first place."

Mara pushes her hair back holding it in place with a crimson length of cloth, "We shall have to move swifty, I had hoped to scout the towns on our trip in and obtain the coin on our way back but it seems we shall have no such luxuries. We will need to check out the towns quickly, see how the people feel about the Laird and press forward quickly. We will also need to find that scroll reader if we are to return within a 10 day."

GM's personal experience of the middle east.
Arabic insults can inspire GENERATIONS of enmity between tribes and so, they tend to be very... poetic, nuanced and complex. In fact, the hand gesture for "A-Okay" is VERY BAD to use in Islamic territories; as the gesture means, "I'm gonna Get you, (pinky- by killing) ONE, (ring- this many people) TWO, (Middle- you love) THREE Times, (with the ring of the index finger and thumb meaning) do you feel the fear? in your? Your As-ho!"
A. "Cheeky Monkey" (*an understatement, intended to hide an epic rude insult when said to another's face. it can mean, "You Monkey F-bleeper" or something like that.)
B. "Dog" (*in Arabic areas I have spent time in... this is the same as calling someone a Sh__eater, as dogs are known to eat S-stuff to survive in the desert. it is a cruel barbed insult.)

Mara must be VERY... ahem, put off, by this discovery.

OOC:
I was going to go with Turkish for Osiriani as I figured the likelihood of someone speaking Arabic was high but I thought ah heck with it, lets just roll with it and see. I did like the cheeky monkey bit, and ya having us sign a magical contract without warning us was a pretty shitty thing to do, especially one with such a tight deadline.

We have ~200-300 miles to cover by horse (there and back again) and ~1,000 miles at sea to complete this. If everyone says sure here’s your cash off you go, which they’re unlikely to, the deadline is untenable at best. The nautical leg alone is 10 days at sea in a modern sailing ship with favourable winds and good weather. For reference San Fran to Taiohae in the Marquesaes Islands is ~3400miles, that’s 30 days at sea in a modern sailboat (personal knowledge). Now your pic of the ship is of a flying boat which would make the trip a lot faster but I don’t know how much of that image was pure fancy and how much was reality. The horse leg, if we were Roman couriers switching horses every 10 miles and riding like the wind we might be able to do the ride in 3 very long days. Best case scenario (no magical transportation) we need 15 or so days to do this and we have 10.

So yes, Mara’s knickers are in a bit of a bunch and this "Lord" is out of earshot and probably doesn’t speak Osiriani.

As a side note, flying sailing ships are something I’ve tried very hard to wrap my head around and going down wind they must be amazing but I can not for the life of me figure out how they go to wind. I have a game with flying ships in at and it makes my brain ache just thinking about this, I love the idea to death but I can’t square the circle of the physics, my best rationalization is the ships keel interacts with the magnetic field of the planet in such a way that it behaves like water.

Lorgith raises an eyebrow at the seemingly impossible timeline. Without some kind of magical intervention, I don't see how we can succeed at the task we have accepted for ourselves. Perhaps we are missing some details? White Claw huffs as if in agreement.

Carth, who is an undemanding passenger, asks Cee-Cee when he comments on the new moon deadline.

"Captain, you seem to know more about this than we do. Why would such a lethal timing be placed on tax collectors and then not explain to them? Surely, he must want the taxes actually collected and returned to him? If we just die in the street on the way, whatever we've collected will be scavenged faster than a dead fish on the beach."

Carth will continue to engage him, and try and draw out anything that the ship captain knows about the prior witless victims and Darth Dillweed's true plans.

Captain Cee Cee, Her face flat and expressionless, "I knew you'd have questions." "do you tell the athletes about to start a game; how much you are going to wager, and on whom, to do what? who to win, who to come second, who to place third, who to lose, who to suffer an injury, who to fall, and who will never play again? Laird Dekard is supposed to be the only one who can retrieve the taxes, and he's paid well to do just that. They didn't remove him from the position (*She drags a thumb across her throat)
instead, they placed wagers on the adventurers and use the Seer's pool in the king's castle to stay apprised of the progress. Believe me when I say, the king never fails to collect his taxes. If you want to live, you'll do all you can to fulfill the contract. You MUST!" Her face almost red with anger... and tears.

She tries to straighten her posture, but her shoulders are weary with an unknown weight. The captain dismisses you with a quieter, "Else it will have been nice knowing you, oh most honorable squire of stall inspection."
She turns her back on you and moves with her ship's officers to the next area of the ship to inspect.

The First Officer, Kadar, is a dwarf. He marches straight over to Logrith. He says, "Take this" and he gives you his amulet.
"Put your hand on it and hate giants. You will grow big with this magic. Put your hand on it and relax... you return to dwarf size."
OOC:
Giant form Amulet - 3/day, Enlarge person cast as a 3rd level spell
I thank you sir! This no doubt will prove very helpful since the odds seem to be quite stacked against us.
Logrith places the amulet on his left arm and he and the bear disembark.
Feb 29, 2020 4:38 pm
Mara smiles and offers her half bow half curtsy to the men, "Lord Mayor, evidently word travels faster than the winds in Saltshore. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

She looks dubiously at the soil kicking at the salt with her boot and then at the men, "You managed to grow something? In this? You are a talented set of individuals indeed."

Mara looks back at Sudamon and Logrith, "Where are my manners? This is Sudaom Carth, bravest knight in Taldor, Logrith Stormbrew, finest beard on the inland sea, White Claw, and I am Marashepsut Numara, not a terribly Elvish name I know. Please, grant me a moment to bid our captain and her crew farewell before accompanying you."

Carth offers to clap hands with the mayor and his men. "Thank you for the offer. We can afford only a little time for the pleasantries of life, but tea would be most divine." He begs a moment to check his horses legs for strain; the rolling of the waves can cause tension to form in the forelocks. Happy to find his caution unwarranted, he takes the reins lightly in one hand to lead the fierce stallion.

Logrith shook hands with the men while White Claw stood closely behind. Logrith would almost kill for a good cup of tea at this point. The bear had weathered the journey well, lying curled up in a ball once they were underway. Now he was back on guard, alert and ready.

Tea would be most welcome.Noticing the mayor eyeing the bear, he offered, And this is my bear companion, white claw.

The mayor and his men pause at sudamon's question,"what is it"?

They look up confused... and then shocked! "oh no."
The unknown roof climber has managed to steal the "weather vane"

"We must stop the thief from getting away", the mayor shouts.
"you have mounts! go! Recover the Azure stone!"

The mayor and his men scramble to saddle their mounts in the stables next door.
The mysterious thief, reads a scroll and begins leaping up to 30ft, bounding along the roof tops heading east.
Mar 1, 2020 7:13 pm
Why in he midst of all this is the thief reading a scroll? Is it a map? Well it's slowing him down and I will give chase!

Logrith being adept at running along uneven surfaces decides to give chase, leaving an agitated White Claw swaying from side to side on the ground, trying to keep him in view and then ultimately following on foot.

This would be a perfect opportunity to use the Reach Spell (meta-magic) feat, a 60ft line could become a 90ft line.

The chase continues, The thief does not leap down to the ground when she is out of roofs, nope. she's running on tree branches and leaping from tree to tree like a Squirrel.
You are all not that far behind, when a metallic crash is heard.
Mar 2, 2020 12:12 am
Logrith's pursuit stops at the trees. A monkey he is not so he climbs down and continues on the ground, with white claw grumbling not far behind.

Listen everyone, I was wrong. Just because the rules say "there was a distraction" it does not mean ALL OF YOU have to fall for it. if it is your choice, you can keep hunting the thief down-> and I say this to everyone. PLAYER choices of action trump the rules. I was only trying to abide by the rulebook as much as possible. I have gone a step too far. My apologies.
GM: Winding time back a tad. there is a metalic crash, and the thief uses that moment to hide, drink a potion of invisibility, and GTFO.
Some distance further away, and a minute or so into the future the thief uses another scroll of Level 3 Jump, in an effort to increase the difficulty of tracking. She's trying to escape, she's trying to be smart about it. thing is...

She's on foot (Speed 30) and you all are on mounts... Horse Speed: (Checking the book).
OOC:
Logrith, your bear is Large size. You can ride white-claw if wish. Bear speed is: (Checking book/beastiary).
Mar 2, 2020 9:15 pm
okay, book has been checked, Detect magic has a 30ft emanation and the Reach Spell (metamagic) feat states "a spell with a Range".
Sorry, but no.
Additional details; The only info gained (as a cantrip it is AUTOMATICALLY HEIGHTENED to half your level rounded up... Mara 5, Detect magic is therefore 3rd)
So; you can ignore you and your allies magic, you can sense the strongest magic in the defined area, and identify the school it comes from.
However, the spell text does not detect residue after the fact or enable you to track on going magic that has left the area.
(*Seems like you may have discovered a new spell idea to submit to paizo via their request forums though.*)
Mar 2, 2020 9:22 pm
OOC:
I’m full of something, no one’s ever said it was a good idea. Thank you though for your research.
Mar 2, 2020 9:22 pm
Thief speed: ... 30ft. for each action spent running. three actions per round, 90ft.
Bear speed: ... 35ft. A round spent running would therefore be 105ft
Horse speed: ... 40ft normal, for 120... but at a "gallop" I.e. Running 140ft

Seems an invisibility potion and a scroll of 3rd level jump, can make pursuit difficult...
But not impossible. You are going to catch up. it's only a matter of tracking.
Mar 2, 2020 9:42 pm
OOC:

Larkin turns towards the Mayor, speaking in a quiet, even voice, "Well Mayor, it seems as though you were correct and these new friends of ours could indeed use some help, as it seems the thief is more elusive than even previously thought. If she used magic to get away, then perhaps I can be of assistance the next time she is found. I would like to go ahead and assist the group if that is alright with you."

His eyes are alight with excitement at the thought of the chase/adventure ahead, and you can see small motes of energy flicker in and around his person. He looks much like the person in the pictures below, but with a more White and Black color scheme, a mixture of cleric robes/vestments/armor, and he has iconography and a mask at his side that speak to him being a follower of the god Nethys.

Mar 4, 2020 11:39 pm
"What! the stone! it was taken?", the Mayor is furious.
The mayor calms, takes a breath, and says to Sudamon, "I have no choice. I invoke the contract".
Sudamon, Mara, and Logrith wherever you are You freeze in place...

A slight detail of the contract states: ...At each port you would greet the Bourger'Manster and follow the instructions given to you to retrieve the taxes due....

The Mayor says aloud, "without the azure stone, there will be no fertility here. None! My little village will NOT be able to grow anything, all of the crops will die within the next day and the wells have already run dry. I charge you to retrieve the azure stone at all costs, or you will not be given your precious burden." and those bound by the contract can hear it, in their heads, heart, and soul.

She sticks 4 fingers in her mouth and lets out a piercing whistle to attract Sudamon and the mayors attention, "I mean if I am going to waste my time chasing after some thieving tart in a crimson scarf I want it to be because I want to chase after her not because some lord mayor demands it of me."

He rummages in a pouch, grasping a small smooth stone and lets it float out of his hand, where it flies up and orbits around his head, glowing with a soft, blue flame.

Arriving by the sinkhole, he raises a hand in greeting to the dwarf and elf, "Hello and well met to both of you, I am Larkin, a devotee of Nethys. It is a pleasure to meet you both, and I stand ready to assist in any way I can on this endeavor."
Mar 5, 2020 1:50 am
The hooded young man climbs down from his horse. He draws back his hood. A headband, set with a dark purple gem, holds back his dark hair. "I am called Tarquin, Tarquin Terentius Varro," he says. He wears dark studded leathers, a short sword and dagger strapped to his hips. With a sparkle in his eye, he says, "let us catch a thief."
Mar 5, 2020 2:43 am
Well well now. Who is up for a little cave diving? White claw would be chomping at the bit if he had one. As if in agreement, the bear makes a small woofing sound. What do you say Mara?
Mar 5, 2020 3:07 am
Mara slips off her horse adjusts her top and smooths the open skirt over her trousers. The dusty skinned desert Elf sizes up Tarquin and Larkin with her oversized amethyst eyes. "Mara," she says quietly, there’s an Osiriani accent to her common, "Marashepsut Numara, not very elvish I know. Your thief scurried into this hole, we were about head in, you are welcome to join us of course."

Mara looks over the newcomers’ shoulders at the mayor, "Do you have someone who can watch after my horse Malik? I would hate to loose her."

Larkin dismounts, dropping off to the side of his mount. Giving the horse a soft pat he will send the horse back towards Sudamon, "Thank you, I appreciate you and your aid in this."

Turning back to the group and the cave, he whispers a soft prayer and the bluish flames that glow softly from the orbiting aeon stone flare up, casting a brilliant blush light in the area around. A smile lights up his face as he gazes at the flames, the tingling of the magic still dancing across his skin, "I am happy to light our path, although I do not know if I am the best equipped to be the front line for our party, as I do not tend to wear much armour. Perhaps you dwarf and your sturdy bear would like to spearhead this effort and I shall follow close behind to provide light for you?"

As he says this, he is running quick checks on his gear, weapons, and the light armour he does wear, making sure all is in place. The black and white mask swings slightly from where it is attached to his belt.

We surly are up to the task. Let's go White Claw. Logrith is barely finished talking when the bear clambers down the shaft, not needing any rope. He then grabs the rope and makes quick work of the climb down.
Mar 5, 2020 7:16 pm
Larkin will follow behind Logrith, grasping the rope and sliding down. The small stone continues to orbit around his head, throwing off a bright bluish light for the group to see by. Once down, he will take stock of the area and look for anyone hiding, or waiting for the group down the shaft.
Mar 5, 2020 10:57 pm
Mara slides carefully down the rope into the pit, her boots hit the slick clay mud at the bottom and her face wrinkles with vague disgust, "Yuck."

She twists her hand subtly and casts another detect magic before looking about in the muck for footprints beyond the area where they touched down.
Mar 6, 2020 12:14 am
Tarquin follows after the others. In a low voice, he says, "I have spent lots of time in tunnels and such. If you like I can lead the way."

The downward ramp slithers from side to side, before leveling out and traveling for miles deep under the earth...

A. Where are you going?
B. how do you navigate?
C. Safety precautions?
D. Do you have an open flame?
E. What is the marching order?
F. A combat formation?
G. Have you all agreed on a tactic?

(You know things like; keep casters in the middle or rear, Archers at the back or mid, shields out up front? a rear watch? etc.)

I need survival, I need perception, and if applicable, lore skill checks....

I actually think if Mara is okay with it I will switch places with her and take up the spot of the rear guard, keeping her in front of me. I have a continual flame that had been cast upon the aeon stone the floats around my head, so that will cast light as a bright torch, but it's heatless and kinda bluish colored. As far as safety, I will keep an eye out behind us and will be ready with spells if needed, and I will go ahead and pull out my light mace. On tactics, I will try to stay central in the group should a fight break out, that way I can get to downed people if needed and best support the group.

This is Tarquin's "Quiet Allies" feat. You’re skilled at moving with a group. When you are Avoiding Notice and your allies Follow the Expert, you and those allies can roll a single Stealth check, using the lowest modifier, instead of rolling separately. This doesn’t apply for initiative rolls.
Mar 6, 2020 1:15 pm
Larkin will hang back at the entrance for a second and say, "Mara, if you are alright with it I will take the rear guard spot to keep an eye out behind us, and that way our friends with darkvision can take advantage of being further away from the light. Is that alright by you?"

He will then, assuming her agreement, move to the back and begin to keep a steady eye out for danger while pulling out his light mace and mentally preparing for spell casting. In his head he prays, 'Lord Nethys, Keeper of the Weave, The True Source, if it be your will, please watch over our group, and allow me to channel your power to help myself and them, for the greater glory of magic, and for the greater glory of you. May your will be done and may magic prevail.'

A. A sounds like we’re going sneaky sneaky, looking for traps.

D. I do not know... right now find the thief.

GM: You all make progress, and travel further without any encounters, You are still on the trail of the thief.
You come to a steep downward slope, from wall to wall the floor is wet. A small stream flows down the middle.
Logrith and Tarquin, it is clear to you that the thief had climbing spikes hammered into the left wall...
but set a release chord to pull them free once she reached safety.

The slope ahead of you all will require 10 athletics skill checks to navigate; due to the slick clay, flowing water, and angle... DC: 25.
It could be a fatal fall, it could be a trap, you can not see the bottom due to the angle of the passage.

We were hired to be tax collectors, I am not some kind of bendy sinuous acrobat in the Pharaohs harem, we have ten days to live, ten because some bloated, foul smelling, corpse of a man was to lazy and incompetent to do the job himself!"

Mara closes her eyes takes a deep breath and pauses a moment, then she opens her eyes and smiles, "I am so sorry, I really needed to get that out of my system."

Her hand closes around the bronze disk attached to her belt and she starts to swirl her fingers about its surface. "Attach a rope up here, the other end around me or someone else and we try to put some more spikes in the wall, or I can feather fall with a rope down to the bottom of the sludge pit so we can get the bendy sinuous acrobat harem zan."

I think, in my experience, the best way forward often lies in compromise and covering one's arse. I propose we do both, permanently secure a rope, using a spike, to this rock wedge I have found, while also having the dwarf and his bear friend wait up here while we climb down, making sure that the spike/rope hold well. Then, once we are all down, the can follow upon his mount. That way, we get the best of both worlds, and have an easy escape already set up for us. I can go down first unless one of the rest of you would like to make the attempt?"

Larkin will pull out a spool of rope while making his case, and attach one end to the piton using a figure 8 knot. The blue flame stone continues to slowly orbit about 6" above his head, casting a friendly, if a bit cold, light around for all to see by.

Larkin will quirk a crooked smile and take the stone offered to him. "It would be my pleasure." He will cast Light on one of the stones, and hand it back to her. The light is a bluish mystical light, similar to that which the flames give off. Mara will notice that Larkin's eyes briefly flash and a slight electromagnetic magic field seems to spark around him whenever he casts a spell.

"We need to hurry though," Larkin's gaze turns toward the slope, "the longer we take the further ahead she gets, and for all we know there is another easier exit from this place. We must make haste to the bottom."
Mar 9, 2020 4:11 am
GM: Let's see how the plan stands.
1. Larkin sets the Piton in the narrow fissure and twists it to lock it in place.
2. Mara deploys the Lightstones. Mara will go down first and set a spike at the bottom so that no one will slip down into the pit.
3. Tarquin Descends second. He sets a piton and runs the slack of the rope through the links. making a safe path to the bend.
4. Larkin Descends third.
5. Logrith will ride White-Claw to the bottom.
6. The group will follow the marching order from before, with caution as Tarquin will scout around the bend.
7. Time for the second map portion to be put up.

END IRL DAY...

IRL 24hr (March 9). Game time is aprox: 2010 hrs, day 0. Recap: You have traveled miles deep below the sands. You slowed to ensure your safety. You still pursue the thief.
Mar 9, 2020 4:52 am
Mara takes the first illuminated rock and tosses it over the cliff then she slides the bag out from behind her back and begins to rummage through it again.

"Halat ve dört sivri lütfen," she whispers producing another length of rope and a handful more spikes. Handing the spikes to Tarquin, Mara ties the two ropes together making a single rope 100 feet long.

"I am the lightest, with the light down the bottom and the rope tied around me I should be safe enough. Tarquin can use the rope to put the spikes back in the wall, then we can look for the safest way down from the top and bottom. Unless one of you would prefer to go down first."

Emberskyes says:

"That sounds like a good plan," says Tarquin, as he accepts the pitons. He puts them in a belt pouch, and prepares to defend the rope after Mara.
Mar 9, 2020 12:18 pm
OOC:
@GM, yea, I think that is the plan as it stands and what we plan to do.
That works for me as well, let us make haste to catch up to this elusive woman. We need to ensure that she doesn't slip through our fingers. Larkin will keep an eye on the progress as the others begin their descent downward. Once it is his turn, he will carefully make his way down the slope, using the ropes to full benefit.
Mar 9, 2020 3:03 pm
Mara finishes tying the rope about her waist, grabs ahold an arm length away and takes a deep breath. "Wish me luck, pray that the brightness will not come upon me just yet."

She holds her and out to Larkin, "Next shiny rock please."

With that she grabs the hilt of her sword, and closes her eyes. The jewel on the pommel of the blade crackles and sparks a moment as her hair begins to swirl in response to a breeze none of you can feel. She opens her eyes, takes a few steps back and then runs and jumps across the slippery part, instead of falling into the muck a small disk of dust materializes under her feet and she drifts over the precipice and out of sight.

Mara tries to drop close to the wall looking for how the thief got down as she descends and when she can see it looking for a safe place to land at the bottom.

Larkin will oblige and cast light on the rock, and say "Good luck, yell if you get into trouble."
Mar 9, 2020 6:17 pm
GM: The way down for Mara is a smooth glide. The air changes from cool to slightly chilly. Only one wall has the occasional anchor point, showing the progress the thief had made. As you drift down with the speed of feather fall, you notice the tilt of the ground and where the tiny stream flows. The area under the "bendy Zan" (*Heh heh) last piton hole is dry. Through your foresight you avoided the slick mud stones leading to the pit.

Tarquin, Climbs down quickly with Logrith lowering him. The occasional pause as Tarquin Stabs a piton into the hole used by the thief and Rolls his wrist to anchor the pitons permanently. Running the rope through climbing carabiners attached to the pitons, changes the 90 foot climb into several 10ft climbs. At the bottom Tarquin sets the safety line to prevent any accidental slipping...

Larkin uses the ropes, pitons, and Logrith's might to get down.

The three of you cross the tilted slick area to the corner. Tarquin peers carefully around the corner and doesn't See any traps thus far. However, at the end of the passage, there are WOODEN Stairs to a Wood Deck. Lanterns hang from vertical wood beams providing light.

Logrith rides White-Claw down. All of you return to your marching order/combat formation.

As all of you get closer to the wooden stairs You notice that mold, lichen, and very small stunted plants grow in small clumps down here. Tiny beetles, Sand flies, and teeny-tiny spiders live here. A glance down into a fissure reveals something that seems impossible in such dark depths; Trees. With closer study and a look into the occasional low fissures against the wall. The "trees" are petrified and could very well be as old as the world above.

The wood platform resembles Docks as it is supported on pillars. It is level and supported over uneven rocks, mounds, fissures, and MASSIVE natural quartz crystals. Crystal pillars rise up through sections here and there. A number of buildings linked by corridors, stairs, rope bridges, sit at different levels.
In the distance the sounds of massive wood cogs turning, the hint of Forge smoke, and the faint clink of chain. https://www.thoughtco.com/thmb/HGPA_ukb9mT6ILoZgAP9U7yDwno=/768x0/filters:no_upscale():max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/Cristales_cueva_de_Naica-5b02f60bc064710036fefd38.JPG
Mar 9, 2020 6:42 pm
White Claw gets down on all fours and makes a low growl meaning Hop on! Logrith secures his weapons and grabs handfuls of fur, climbing up on the bear. The two easily make the descent and head towards the wooden stairs.

Larkin: the Diaz at the stair well has magical writing its purpose requires investigation, you'd swear though it is transmutation magics interwoven with Alchemical Madness! Mara could help you with the cipher.
Tarquin: You do find one trap, A wire spool inside the door knob will pull on a fine wire that goes above the door. when the knob is twisted something will happen. you find a catch at the top of the door to extend a shim into the next room. you only need to push it in to defeat the trap and enter safely.
Logrith: The freshest muddy tracks at the Diaz head into the tool-shed, to the trapped left door. Though it is clear that White claw can smell something through the middle door. May be people near by in the chambers beyond, but That speculation can entertain many notions of what could be.

I, myself have to keep reminding myself that clicking on the map drags the tiles I have placed, out of place. The way I work with the image is to not touch it. I use the Zoom (magnifying lens) and zoom in twice or three times, then use the Margin bars to move on X,Y, co-ordinates to find the area we are working in. To avoid this problem... and better support other formats I am going to have to build and post the complete map as a new image and not resize it. This will prevent individual tiles from being accidentally shifted and hopefully work better. I need a bit of time to work on it.

REALIST, as a standard everyday thing, Tarquin would meditate at the beginning of his day, Resonant: Aura armor, Harmonic: Defensive Shell.

If I wanted to use Telekinesis to pull the door closed, what do I need to do. Also, since I have the It's handy! feat, can I pull both doors closed?
Probably won't matter since the goblarians go before me.

1. Noted, you have Resonant: Aura armor, and Harmonic: Defensive shell active.
2. Telekinesis has two hands, and 4 strength. Yes you can close both doors, but you aren't going to be able to hold them shut...

Mar 15, 2020 1:32 pm
I have closed this game and made it private.
two players (while you all are very cool indeed) isn't enough to run.
I am sorry.

While this adventure "rail-roads" the players into doing things and risking their lives.
Suffering under a curse, forced into one bad situation after the next.
That is often the motivator of the heroes journey - not the end of it.
The players are "encouraged" to collaborate to complete the missions;
So that they can end the curse, regain their freedom, and if they want it, to exact revenge...

A Player character falls into quicksand - "I quit" is not what I expect to hear.
A player character is poisoned... time to give up..?

Adventures are not meant to be an easy trail of gumdrops to a pile of cash monay!
Bad things happen, so that each victory, every choice made, and each act, is changed from ordinary... to heroic.
Mar 15, 2020 2:12 pm
When Luke learns that a princess needs to be rescued, does he say, "fuck it, not my problem"?
When "Uncle Ben" and "Aunt perue" are interrogated, tortured, and reduced to ashes by an army of storm troopers...
Luke Skywalker doesn't say... "Well, fuck. I still need to install them thar moisture vaporators".
What makes Obi wan decide to go rescue princess Leia? the promise of "phat loot" or "Spread legs"?
While Han solo needs the cash to get the hutt crime syndicate off his back; is that where his loyalties really lay?

When the death star captures the millennium falcon ; When the losers are surrounded by a planet of bad guys,
do they cry out... "oh no, I can't play anymore. I don't like being railroaded"....

I will put the map back together; sadly Sudamon and Logrith will not be coming back.
We will continue.
GM: Goblarian closest to Marashepsut Numara rolls to hit.
Ex+4, Level +5, str +2= +11

The Goblarian closest to Tarquin Terentius Varro attacks him: also, +11

Larkin Flintlock and Mara are in position to attack the Goblarian who is attacking Mara.

Tarquin is the only one who can fight the Goblarian that he faces alone.
OOC:
The Osirian warrior has not been disturbed -time rewrite, no white-claw, no logrith.
The third Goblarian was disturbed bythe sounds of the fighting and is creeping about the corner (north/above) Tarquin.

Rolls

Attacking Tarquin - (1d20+11)

(18) + 11 = 29

Mara was missed...
Tarquin mas use "Defensive shell" to Parry and has... "Three hands" (*I.e. 3 attempts to parry).
Please roll the activation check and compare the result with the 29 the goblin got.

I am open to changing the schedule if neccessary/ desired

Yes, you considered options but you didn't activate anything.
No, the power is your daily harmonic. Defensive shell is the unconscious mind parrying attacks with your telekinesis, and as it is the unconscious wielding the power it is freed of some of your limitations. Your mind instinctively tried to swat one attack away, and you have 3 "Hands".

No, the power isn't subject to "Shutting down" as it is on every round until you next fully Replenish and for the time being does not consume focus points.

Very well, I shall continue with our current schedule; I will be checking everyday and responding as often as I can, but game progress is in the hands of the players. If you don't mind I will start praying for you. You see, I was one of those weird kids growing up; I never got sick. After a blood draw to check for anything that might be wrong; the doctor came to my family and said he was worried because my white blood cell count was off the charts. Not exactly a good thing as a high WBC meant a low RBC red blood cell count.
I had my first cold/flu at the age of 43. Having never, ever, gotten sick before I was in agony. I whined to my wife, "Oh baby, I didn't know colds could hurt this bad"...
Also, it is your turn. At any time You can describe your chosen actions, and change them in accordance with the changing situation.
For example; Tarquin was going to use Telekinesis to shut- "Hold the doors"... but when the GOBLarians went first, that effort would have been moot. He chose a different tactic. One not so "hodor-ish" sorry, that's game of thrones meme thing.

Storming hands very well. The save DC for the two Goblarians is 10+ TN+2, Cha+4, Level+5, Spell circle is 1st aka +1 =
Save DC is 22. Oh, and I am assuming you wish to use the Electrical damage trait; remember the GM boon I gave you. That you can choose your damage type; bludgeoning (blast of wind), cold (Blast of frost), electrical (Blast of sparks), Force (Raw Elemental Magic flowing from your genie Blood) Piercing (stabbing shards of ice) and slashing (razor edged snow flakes blown against your foe's exposed skin).
The Goblarians reflex save is Tn+2, Dex+2, lvl+5= +9

Rolls

Goblarian Reflex Save vs Mara's Storming hands - (1d20+9)

(13) + 9 = 22

Goblarian Reflex Save vs Mara's Storming hands - (1d20+9)

(4) + 9 = 13

Mar 16, 2020 1:08 pm
Duly noted; you are using the 4th level Sorceress feat "bespell weapon". Your weapon now adds 1d6 electrical damage on a successful hit.
One Goblarian takes half damage, the other was almost a crit fail. That Goblarian takes full damage.
So Mara roll your 2d6 please and let me know the result.
Mar 16, 2020 1:31 pm
GM: I must point out that the goblins have used all of their actions (move to door, open door, attack with readied weapon).
This means they haven't entered their rage, which means Tarquin is Retro-healed 6 hit points of damage.
Also, Specialization for the barbarian starts at 7th level... thus their true rage damage bonus is not +6, it is +2.

The current round;
Tarquin still has 3 actions to take.
Mara after her spell, has 1 action.
One does not simply walk through a dungeon without a drawn weapon. Ergo, Mara already had her sword drawn and in her hands.
Larkin also has all 3 actions available.

I shall also drop the reminder; all of you have 2 hero points.
You may spend a hero point to re-roll a check (not damage).
You may spend all hero points to instantly "Stabilize" if you have the dying condition.
Hero points can not be transferred from one player to another.
As the GM, it is my responsibility and great pleasure to award hero points when the players earn them.

3. I need to roll will save for the Goblarian. Ex+4, level+5, Wis+0= Will save: +9... 1d20+9
We will use your activation roll result as the Save DC.

The goblin is stunned 1, for 2 rounds. (*Yes. you can attack a stunned target, but I will check the core rule book regarding the stunned condition and spells that cause it).

Larkin will reach down to his belt, grasping the mask of Nethys and place it upon his face, his eyes arcing blue energy as the mask fuses there. He squeezes his holy symbol while reciting a quick prayer, "Nethys bring thy might to bear against these beasts, they have no respect for magic, let's change that..."

With that, he will cast "Spiritual Weapon" Behind one of the stunned goblin, and a glowing, floating archmage staff will flash into existence before swinging down to crack the goblin on her head. Larkin will then throw and hand up and a bluish forcefield of energy will spring forth between him and the goblin creatures.

Tarquin has 2 actions remaining this turn. I shall inform you of an option you currently have. At 5th level the Psion gains Trance. You may enter a Trance state to continue to use the Dissonance psychic attack, for free (no cost in focus points) as long as you continue to successfully activate it, or end the trance. it is an option you have. (*This capacity was created for the psion class as they do not have the ability to use unlimited cantrips as other casters do. it also gives psychic attacks that "Speed of thought" feeling.)

Larkin bringing your holy symbol up as a focus was a part of your casting of Spiritual Weapon, and you directed the ArchMage Staff to strike. According to the spell description you are at the moment out of actions this turn. You may sustain the spell for free in the following round(s), but each time you direct the weapon to strike counts as if you have attacked in melee as well. in the next rounds you may attack with the spiritual weapon 3 times per turn if you should so choose. Just like the speed of an archer firing arrow after arrow...

However, directing the spiritual weapon to strike a different target and/or move will cost one action via the "Sustain a spell" action.
Mar 17, 2020 2:35 pm
OOC:
"When you cast the spell, the weapon appears next to a foe you choose within range and makes a Strike against it. Each time you Sustain the Spell, you can move the weapon to a new target within range (if needed) and Strike with it. The spiritual weapon uses and contributes to your multiple attack penalty." From my reading of the spell description, the first strike that it makes is free when casting the spell the first time, so it would just be 2 actions to "cast and strike" in that first round. After that, I can spend 1 action to sustain it, which allows me to move and attack once with it in further rounds. Or am I reading it in a different way? We can play it however you like though. I just read it as 2 actions to cast/strike the first round, and then 1 action to sustain/strike in further rounds.

Won't that leave Tarquin vulnerable to attacks by the other goblarians?

Can he target the other goblarians?

1. No. Trance does not cause a penalty to perception, movement, or anything. The limitation is that it must be a repeated activation rolls of the same psychic attack.
2. Yes. You can change targets.

I just read it as 2 actions to cast/strike the first round, and then 1 action to sustain/strike in further rounds.
The power of faith, when the divine grants a miracle...
God does not go half way.*

You do not have to waste actions to "Sustain" a miracle with your personal energy; however, every command given to the divine Agent granted to serve you in this moment of need, does count against you. Making the weapon attack counts as though you had attacked, commanding the weapon to change targets or move... that will require the sustain action as you must commune to command.

In essence, you have the psion "Trance" feature as long as you command the spiritual weapon.
(*Though god does say, "It will be in accordance with your faith". i.e. This is why all divine miracles are not "Maximized" and "Empowered". We are the stumbling block, it is our faults that create our limits.)

Is defending automatic or does it cost an action to say, "I assume a defensive stance against incoming attacks"? I’d look but I’m on the job at an MVA right now.
Such things may have become class feats for other classes. Yet, the weapon trait "Parry" costs an action to gain its benefit of a +1 AC.
normally Staves have the Parry trait...
If I recall correctly, Your Elven Sword of the Sirocco has ALL of the properties of a least staff of the tempest.
Wielding your blade to defend yourself takes one action to manipulate/interact the weapon.

As per the Staff, you wield your weapon to defend yourself. Gaining a +1 to AC. there was no statement requiring this defensive grip to end if you do not keep spending actions on defending your self.

If it's one action for Dissonance, then he'll use it on the other two goblarians.
Seeing that the goblarian to the west is stunned,Tarquin starts to hum just a bit, "ohmmm." He shows the goblarian to the south the back of his glove
OOC:
Dissonance activation
. Not waiting to see the result, he turns the glove to the last goblarian
OOC:
Dissonance activation
.

Rolls

Dissonance activation #1 - (1d20+12)

(1) + 12 = 13

Dissonance activation #2 - (1d20+12)

(9) + 12 = 21
